2. Booking and payment

3. No security deposit

We do not take a security deposit. Nothing is frozen on your card at the start of the rental.

In place of a deposit, we hold your card details together with a signed authorisation. That authorisation allows us to charge you, after the rental, only for: Salik tolls, traffic and parking fines, a fuel shortfall, additional mileage, a late return, and damage liability under section 6.

We will not charge anything to your card without first telling you what it is for and providing the supporting documentation.

4. Delivery, handover and collection

5. Fuel

6. Damage and liability

The car carries comprehensive insurance as required by UAE law. That does not mean damage costs you nothing. This section sets out exactly what you are responsible for, and it forms part of the rental agreement you sign at handover.

If the car is damaged, you pay the cost of repairing it at a Rolls-Royce authorised centre, or AED 15,000, whichever is higher. If the car is written off, stolen or not recovered, you pay the full value of the car.

6.1 The condition record

At handover and again at collection we photograph the car in a fixed sequence: each of the four corners, the roof, each wheel and tyre individually, the front and rear glass, the front and rear interior, and the instrument panel showing the odometer and fuel level. Every photograph is timestamped.

You are entitled to be present at both inspections, you are invited to be, and you are welcome to take your own photographs at the same time. Anything recorded at handover is pre-existing and is never charged to you. If you choose not to attend, our record made at that time stands.

6.2 Damage

If the car is damaged during your rental you pay the higher of the full cost of repair at a Rolls-Royce authorised centre, evidenced by the repairer’s invoice, or AED 15,000. The cost of repair includes parts, labour, paint, calibration, recovery, storage and assessment. We give you the invoice before we charge you. We do not charge for fair wear and tear, and we do not charge for anything recorded at handover.

6.3 Total loss, theft or non-recovery

If the car is declared beyond economical repair, or is stolen, seized, burnt or otherwise not recovered, you pay the full value of the car at the date of the incident — the cost of acquiring a vehicle of equivalent make, model, year and specification, established by independent valuation. We give you the valuation before we charge you.

6.4 Loss of use

Where the car is off the road because of damage or loss you are responsible for, you pay the daily rental rate for the period reasonably required to repair it, evidenced by the repairer’s job card, or in a total loss for the period reasonably required to source a replacement, up to sixty days. Nothing is charged under this clause where the damage happened without fault on your part or that of a driver named on the agreement.

6.5 Not covered by the insurance, and charged at the cost of repair

6.6 When the insurance does not respond at all

A UAE motor policy does not pay, and the insurer is entitled to decline the claim in full, if at the time of the incident the car was:

Your responsibility under 6.2, 6.3 and 6.4 applies whether or not the insurer responds. This is why the police report matters: call the Police on 999 after any incident, however minor, and then call us.

6.7 How we charge, and what we show you

We do not charge you anything without first giving you the document it rests on — the repairer’s invoice, the independent valuation, the police report, or the insurer’s written decision. Sums are payable within seven days of a written demand accompanied by that evidence. In place of a security deposit we hold your card details together with your signed authorisation, as set out in section 3.

7. Accidents and breakdowns

A police report is mandatory after any accident. UAE insurers will not settle a claim without one. If you do not obtain a police report, the insurance cannot pay and you are liable for the full cost of the damage, not just the excess.

8. Mileage

100 km per day is included, calculated across the whole rental rather than day by day. Distance beyond that is charged at AED 50 per kilometre, read from the odometer at handover and collection.

9. Salik, fines and penalties

10. Returning the car

11. Cancellations and refunds

Cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before delivery. The full terms are set out in our Cancellations and Refunds policy.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The version published here on the date your booking is confirmed is the version that applies to your rental.
